Total Earnings Since I started blogging to earn

I just realized that it's already been a year since I started blogging back again to earn money and now that I found this out, I have to give a recap on the past year on how much in total I've earned through the different programs I've signed my website and then some other sites out.

These are my earnings during the year using soloflighted.com

These are my earnings in dollars for my site and then some.

In totality for the year, here're my earnings.

I'm actually in a total shock that I've earned that much in a span of a year. But I'm equally in shock in locating where this amount has gone off. hehe. Of course, there are bills and other expenses. But I'm happy cause I didn't expect this much to come to me.

I have 4 blogs to maintain, two have their own domain and two are free blogger accounts. I don't earn as much in those blogger accounts but the domains are really vital.

For now, I'm planning to get another domain. hehe.

After the rain

Here comes the drought of not having enough entries or tasks. Still I'm very thankful that it coincided with the month that I first started blogging in order to earn some income. It was on a November that I first created my comeback (to blogging) entry.

So right now, I'm going back to saving up and anticipating for more opportunities.

I'm just so glad that I was able to use some extra money while I was in Manila for a business trip. Because I doubt if my salary could withstand the expenses of the metropolis. I was able to get my money back through reimbursement.

Anyway, I'm looking for more opportunities again.

4th Payout!

Through soloflighted.com, I earned my fourth payout! It's nice cause again, I've been referring to this payouts my quarterly bonus. It's great knowing that there's some extra moolah that I can get out of blogging. People understand why I blog for money anyway.

Come to think of it, since this is already my fourth payout, I should write an entry collating all the earnings I've gained out of soloflighted.com. I would need to create one for my other blogs as well.

update!

I haven't been able to update this site as much as I wanted to. Probably because I went to Manila the past three weeks and I had to give more time to my full-time job rather than this blogging business. Anyway, I'm back! Though there are a lot of things I need to to so I can update this site.

But good news! I was able to earn $420 dollars in a span of 3 weeks! Yes! I was given a link my a company which required bloggers to have their own domain names and then link the keyword that the advertisers have and publish them.

There were 42 entries at that time with $5 dollars per entry. Again, the main requirement was for you to have a domain and not a free registered blog (e.g. blogspot, wordpress etc.) and since I have 2 personal weblogs, I hurriedly kept posting and posting till I my hands swell.

When I got to the middle of the process, I realized I didn't have much time. That's when I also realized that the requirement wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. They even allowed me to backtrack my tasks (or changing the date to a later time). That's when I realized that I was wasting my time trying to compose as many entries as possible. Because what happened was that I just used my old blog entries and then integrated the keywords directly into those posts! Which wasn't at all hard to do!

I'm so glad that I got to earn as much as that in how many weeks! But you might wonder where's the money now? They're almost all gone cause a lot had been allocated to house expenses and such. Oh well, easy come, easy go. But it was really that easy! hehe.

3rd payout!

3rd payout! Yey! I got my 3rd payout which is comprised of paid reviews from last week of May to first two weeks of August 2008. Again, this isn't much to professional bloggers but I do this as a sideline so it's nice that almost every now and then, I get a bonus from earning online money.

These were earned under my personal/travel blog: Soloflighted.com plus some extra tasks from my admin for her site. I also have earned some money through another personal weblog I created but I'm not using the moolah any time soon.

I'll be getting the money from my Admin later on tonight and I'm planning to just save this bunch so I can pay it off for school.

I'm on a high already. :)

to blog for money or not?

To blog for money or NOT?

I asked myself this question a whole bunch of times before I returned to blogging. Right now, I'm still stuck in that stage where I don't want to compromise my site in putting too much commercialism in it as I wanted to preserve the essence of blogging.

I used to blog for blogging's sake. I wanted to express my thoughts just to have my piece of the pie in creating a statement, no matter how little that would be. Until it came to a point that I didn't want to blog anymore. However, the interest came back when I learned I could blog to earn.

Right now, I'm really making some moolah out of my personal blog. But I don't want to bombard it with too many side content that's it's already hard to distinguish what the purpose for it is.

That's why if you have plans on how you want to blog, you need to sort out your sentiments if you really want to earn or not. As for me, I just wanted to be somewhere in the middle. I'd want to monetize my site, however, I still want to be a part of that small group with some entries that are worth reading.

Not that those sites that focus more on earning such as the one here, isn't worth reading. We all have different perspectives and opinions on how we view blogging.

On my end, I had to blog because I needed the money. Of course, who doesn't need some right? But again, we all have our own reasons, just don't let yourself get caught in between. You should know what you want. If you think that you'd be compromised with the way you are writing and putting different ads or paid content on your site, then stop already. You do have a choice anyway.

As what a colleague at work commented when I was still having this inner conflict inside me whether to blog for money or not, he asked me: "What is the sole purpose why you blogged?" I replied "Because I want to earn". There you have it, enough said.

bombclick

BOMBCLICK - somebody asked this question in istorya.

As far as I know, bombclick is a slang for the act of constantly and abusively clicking on your ads. Whether it be you, or another person as far as timbuktu, anyone who keeps on clicking on your ads. Google has a way (that I don't know what type of tool) of finding the number of clicks if it came from the same origin or IP address and can trace that down.

That's why in the terms and conditions of Google, they specifically tell you NOT to click on your own ads nor tell anyone to click on your ads. It purposely defeats the purpose of whole adsense principle in the first place. A person clicks on an advertisement in another person's site because he wants to know more about the product or service that was advertised.

There are actually a number of videos out there that discuss the importance of NOT EVER clicking on your ads! Because if Google finds out about this, then they will definitely ban you and you can't reapply anymore because it's under your own name.

So please, do yourself a favor, don't click; nor tell anyone to click!

traffic

As said in the previous post, we're going to talk about how soloflighted.com started to gain traffic to my site..

  1. Submitted my site to Google
  1. Told some of my friends about it to add to the traffic.
  1. Blog-hopped, left some comments and exchanged links - the rule is usually i scratch your back, you scratch mine.
  1. Applied for blog networks (blogcatalog, mybloglog).
  1. Posted my site to forums (caution: don't post your site to just about anywhere if you feel you might get fired from your work because of the content of your entries).
  1. Put pictures on my site - right now, most people are more inclined to seeing pictures in sites rather than read the entries. Although the articles are supposed to be the main attractions of your site, readers would catch sight of pictures first.
  1. Post entries that are of good quality. It's useless if you just post spam in your site; as eventually, people will want to read more on the content of your entries rather than just a bunch of hullabaloos; unless of course your hullabaloos are worth reading.

Caution: Don't post your site to just about anywhere if you feel you don't want a lot of people you know to read your blogs; or if you feel you might get fired from your work because of the content of your entries talking about work! Be sensible enough. Remember that these are just what I did for my site.

I know there are a number of ways on how to increase traffic, but I'm taking my time slowly now. Besides, this is all that I know. hehe. If you have some more tips, you can post them in the comment section; as I'm also willing to learn more. I'm finding some ways *ehem* proper ways in order to attract good traffic on my site.

pause

I'm running out of topics to write. haha. I can't believe it came to this point already, this early? I was so sure I had a lot of information I could give to people out there; but right now there's a drought of data in my head.

I guess this is just a phase, since I haven't had enough sleep and I'm off to work after a couple of hours. sigh, another 5 day-working spree.

Anyway, if you have some questions, feel free to ask. As you can probably seem, this blog is still new. So I don't have that much visitors, which means I'm not that busy. hehe.

I'm just pausing for awhile as I'll be finding some more topics to talk about in order to earn money online through blogging as well find other rackets (not scam!) out there to further widen my knowledge in getting rich quickly

Ciao!

things I did

I started earning money for extra tasks from the admin during November of 2007. But it's only now that I started to earn money for my site. Here's a list of things I did that began my adventures in the blogging business.

I initially wrote "Things to Do" for this list, but since I can't guarantee that you'll have the same outcome as I do, I replaced it with "Things I Did". This mainly serves as a guide for reference.

Things I Did:
  • Create a Paypal account - This is used for cash (or should I say cashless) transactions. This is the main mode of payment used by generally everyone.
  • Apply for a Union Bank EON Account - In order for you to apply for a paypal account, you need to have a credit card (Mastercard or Visa). Since I didn't have any at that time, my admin suggested that I apply for a Union Bank EON account which is the only savings account that accepts paypal in the Philippines.
  • Create a Blog! - This is where you earn cash as you blog. The best place that accepts most of those advertisements and paid posts as well as customize your page for your pleasure would be... you guessed it right, Blogger/Blogspot. But since I already had one (with a lot of entries at that) my admin purchased a domain for me. She bought a domain at Wordpress.
Note: Your blog should meet certain requirements imposed by different pay per post sites (e.g. blog must be 3 months old, must all have original content, etc.).
  • Apply for a Dneero Survey Account - This isn't much but it can be handy at times. You can only get a certain amount for every survey you take and post to your site. It doesn't hurt to earn some while taking surveys.
  • Apply for Google Adsense - This is where most people with a website (with high traffic) earn their moolah. You just have to copy and paste the codes and place them on your site. For every click *ehem* for every VALID click, you get a few cent's worth of revenue.
By the way, don't ever, ever, ever, EVER, EVER!!! click on your own ads. I can't stress it more.
  • Apply for Paid Post Sites - Where I earn most of my income through blogging since in my blog, I more or less advertise different products.

I'll be writing posts with better detail of the thing I mentioned above.

    starter

I created this blog just to chronicle the life of my site: soloflighted.com and how I started earning and making money out of it. Some people may find the idea of blogging money absurd, especially those who are really skeptical. Sure you may laugh at me as I may sound like an email spammer, as if I sell different types of medicines or insurances from Timbuktu. But hey, I'm really earning!

This blog is just a guide for those people who have plans of making use of their blog to earn some moolah.

    Peace out!
